Yes, we maintain a club lapidary shop and storage area at 497 N. 100 West in Cedar City. Our December meeting will be there (as we have over 30 folding chairs now which is not quite enough, so bring a small folding chair if possible) and we’ll continue to meet there in the coming year.
The December meeting will be a chance to meet some of our 20+ new members, eat potluck finger foods, drink hot chocolate and do a rock exchange.
Entrance fee is one Wrapped Rock with identification and location of find (if available) inside the package. Please no markings on the outside of the wrapping as we will draw numbers and choose rocks at random, and we want it to be a secret until unwrapped.
The Club and Jana & Tracy will provide appetizers of bbq smokies, cheese, spiced burger rounds, hot chocolate, and ice water.
Members at the last club meeting signed up to bring the following items.
Eric Vogt – Sushi
Wally & Corinne Curtis – Brownies
Joe & Nancy Jensen – Fruit Stickers
Dale & Judy Pettit – Home-made Candy
Jeff & Cole Smith – Cookies
Bill & Stella Tandy – Eggnog
Lynn Dalton – Chips & Salsa
We do need a couple of veggie/dip trays and anything special you’d like to share.
This is a fun time to kick off the revitalized shop with the club working toward having a silver casting and jewelry making section. Some of the equipment is already in process with more to come soon.
And for those members that haven’t seen the clubhouse, you’ll get to know it better as we continue to “make it better”.
Questions? Call Tracy @ 435-865-1441. We’re in and out because of Jana’s PT and I’m building the boardwalk to my shop before the snow files, but leave a message.
